Our mission is to decrease the occurrence of teen pregnancy, suicide, substance and sexual abuse. Empowering our young ladies to make healthy lifestyle choices, Encouraging Positive self esteem with Mentors and Role Models, while Inspiring Cultural and Community Pride.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to create an environment where girls ages 7 to 14 can feel safe and confident in their ability to make healthy lifestyle choices, and create positive change in her life and others. We want girls to know just how special they are here at Island Girl Power! We also emphasize the importance of Positive Role Models and Volunteering in our community.

- Take a stand against Tobacco and Alcohol Company Support and Sponsorship of Youth Programs and Family Events.
- Speak Out against The Exploitation of Women and Girls through inappropriate media promotion and exposure of youth to sexual images in advertising.

Girl Power & Island Girl Power
Girl Power! Was a national public education campaign from 1998-2003 sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services with leadership from the Office of the Secretary, the Office on Women’s Health, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. The Girl Power! Campaign combines the latest knowledge about girls’ lives with messages and materials designed to be appealing to girls themselves.
Island Girl Power! ! Is a prevention program of The Ayuda Foundation. Supported locally by Guam Department of Public Health, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse, Rotaract Club of the Marianas, VARO, GOMH, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Guam, Simon Sanchez ProStart, Payless Foundation, AOSC, Soroptimist International of the Marianas, Soroptimist International of Guam, UOG Soroptimist SIGMA Society, UOG Internship and Guam Community College’s Service Learning Programs.
